Project Targets 

• A tried and tested methodology that offers a consistent approach for appropriate businesses to be found, filtered, analysed in respect of due diligence (both social and financial), financed and supported during conversion to Social Firms.
• Up to 10 frontline organisations supported to create a Social Firm through buying a business
• Create between 8 to 10 new Social Firms through buying existing businesses and converting them to Social Firms
• Increase annual turnover of the Social Firms sector in Scotland
• Increase in the number of FTE jobs created in Social Firms for people who are severely disadvantaged
• A Lessons Learned Report and "How to" guide developed and disseminated to broader social enterprise sector

Impact
This project will impact on how current/future Social Firms are developed and has the potential to lead to businesses that are more sustainable in achieving their social and commercial aims. Ultimately people currently excluded will move into jobs.
