Scotland mapping
In order to measure the size and growth of the sector we need to map who is out there including fully fledged Social Firms, emerging Social Firms and potential Social Firms (who have not started trading as yet).  To this end Social Firms Scotland conducted an extensive (but not exhaustive) mapping exercise through 2007 and again in 2010. 

2010 mapping results show 20 full Social Firms and 29 emerging Social Firms in Scotland, earning 72% of their income through trade and with 56% of FTE employees having a severe disadvantaged.

Mapping the sector is an ongoing process and the statistics once finalised are a snapshot of that time period.  If you would like to be included in the ongoing mapping exercise or want to update us on your progress please contact us.
