Social Firms Scotland are involved in a number of events through the year to promote and raise awareness of Social Firms and the Social Firm sector.  Our main event of the year is our annual AGM which we use not only to carry out the usual business but also to give our members the chance to promote their Social Firms and network with other Social Firm Developers.

Buying for Good - Achieving Community Benefits in Procurement

Please join us for the launch of a new practical guide on the use of community benefits (sometimes called social clauses) in Housing Association procurement.  The guide, produced by Social Firms Scotland in partnership with Grampian Housing Association, examines 5 case studies where community benefits clauses have been used by Housing Associations in the procurement process. This is backed up by examples of policies, procedures and assessment methods that can be adopted.

The event will examine the guide contents, including the legal basis for the use of community benefit clauses, discuss issues of cost and fairness and suggest how the supply side can be strengthened by encouragement from Housing Associations.  It will be interactive with a mix of short presentations, Q&A and group work.
